DOCX (Word) is for editing text — content, styles, headings. PDF locks layout — identical on every device, ideal for invoices, contracts, and CVs.

Convert DOCX → PDF before sending "for reading only." Convert PDF → DOCX only when you need to edit text — layout may break. For archiving and print, always choose PDF.
